About Us

Dr. Yulia Belova, PhD in Linguistics, Fulbright Research Scholar. My dedication to ESL students grew from my work with adult and adolescent refugees  and later with English Language Learners of Louisiana.

Originally from Russia, I have first-hand knowledge of cultural peculiarities of Eastern European immigrants and the educational system of Russia. I taught future teachers of English as a Foreign Language for Russian schools.

As an ESL teacher currently working with Hispanic students, I deem it vital to bridge the cultural gap and facilitate better understanding.

As with any group of students, abilities and learning styles can vary significantly. Therefore, it's crucial to adjust teaching methods to each individual. With my Hispanic ESL learners, I place an emphasis on building a strong foundation in English language basics, such as vocabulary, grammar, and mistakes that hinder communication.. Additionally, I employ a variety of approaches, including visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning techniques, gamification of learning to cater to the various ways my students learn best.
